Télédiffusion d’Algérie (TDA) is the regulator for
the Algerian broadcasting industry. It is responsible for allocating
frequencies to analogue and digital television, co-ordinating with broadcasting
authorities in neighbouring countries and relationships with the International
Telecommunications Union (ITU).
TDA has ordered a global tool comprising ICS Manager
and ICS Telecom from ATDI. ICS Manager is used for frequency management
(frequency plan, licences, documents, etc.), while ICS Telecom is dedicated
to network planning (digital and analogue TV, Hertz waves, etc.) and national
mapping.
TDA is a member of the broadcasting union for Arab
countries (ASBU). This association is made up of regulators in charge
of TV frequency management in 23 Arab countries.

take ICS Telecom for Kosovo
The Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe
has recently taken delivery of one ICS Telecom system for use by their
mission in Kosovo (OMIK) operated in partnership with the United Nations.
OMIK aims to re-build the FM broadcast infrastructure within Kosovo
following recent conflicts and will use the planning system as a spectrum
management decision support tool to aid broadcast frequency assignment
and to ensure compliance with international treaties on exported interference.
Supply of the tool was preceded by training in the UK for key OMIK staff.

Lier
Electronics Bid TETRA in Switzerland
When Patrick Lier of Lier Electronics approached ATDI
through UK partner RCL Technical Services for advice on coverage planning
for future TETRA network bids, ATDI had no hesitation in recommending
supply of a copy of HerTZ Mapper along with the conversion of digital
map data for several Swiss cantons. As Patrick commented, "HerTZ
Papper was the ideal package for us during the bid phases. Using the
tool in network design demonstrated to the regulator that we had the
competence to complete the networks once an operating licence was awarded".
Lier have now been chosen as a network operator and have now moved into
the implementation phase.

their voice, data or image signals in the 50MHz, 70MHz, 144MHz, 432MHz
and 1296MHz bands. The tool is to be used by administrative staff to
evaluate proposed locations for these sations and to minimise interference
between stations sharing channels...
