ATDI is now proud to offer a turn-key solution for Spectrum Monitoring applications, including equipment as well as its in-house developed software package ICS telecom nG and ICS manager nG.
The system has been designed taking into account the need for high performances associated with a modular architecture and cost-effectiveness, and is intended to perform all the necessary Spectrum Control tasks in order to check the conformity of the Radio Spectrum picture with the legal occupancy and power levels.
Depending on the customer’s needs and area to monitor, the size of the system can be tailored to meet the requirements, and offer the full panel of functionalities according to ITU recommendations.
The system may comprise mobile monitoring stations as well as fixed stations, all linked together by means of radio links for supervision and mission orders transfer.
The main features of the system are:
20-3000 MHz frequency band monitoring,
Direction finding performance,
Scan of the range, and store the active channels,
Demodulation and recording of communications,
Location of transmitters using two or more DF’s,
Control transmitted signals conformity to ITU recommendations,
Decoding of transmissions,
Technical analysis of transmissions.
Depending on the needs of the customer and/or the size of the country, the system will require a fixed Control Station and/or vehicles that can communicate with the fixed station.
HF spectrum monitoring is also available as an option.
Mobile station
The mobile station is integrated into a vehicle and provides spectrum control in the 20-3000 MHz frequency band as well as direction finding.
The mobile station is a self contained DF and monitoring system that can perform all tasks independently while stationary or “homing” during motion.
The station performs signal measurements, occupancy measurements and direction finding tasks. It includes a workstation (PC) in the role of Operator Post to control all the equipment and functions.
The operator controls and commands all activities and mission assignments via the Operator’s Post. The system software includes its own data base storage capacity and reports utilities required for mission performance.
Fixed Station
The Central Station is the central fixed spectrum monitoring and management centre.
The purpose of this station, in addition to mobile stations is to:
The central station can integrate a system such as described for the mobile stations, or in simple applications the station may have no radio capabilities, being a management center only.
The Spectrum Management part of the tasks includes:
Mission planning (local, in case of local capabilities, remote for vehicles), for discrete frequencies or frequency bands investigations) including spectrum occupancy, tolerance level, modulation type, field strength…
Display the results and prepare the corresponding reports,
Monitoring subsystem management and control,
Communication with the remote vehicles (using PSTN or cellular connection),
Interface with the Spectrum Management function (ATDI’s ICS Manager), which is in charge of frequency allotment assignment and licensing, interference problem resolving, frequency planning, ITU notifications, border coordination…
